First Aid, CPR and AED

This course is a combination course that teaches the participant Adult and Child CPR, AED Operation, Bloodborne Pathogens, and First Aid. This course provides the layperson with the minimum knowledge and skills necessary to provide emergency care for suddenly ill or injured adults during the usually brief interval between the incident and arrival of emergency medical care professionals.

Oxygen Administration

Training in the use of supplemental oxygen to those that need it is an essential element of emergency care. Oxygen Administration is designed to provide an understanding of how to safely handle and administer oxygen in various settings. Key topics discussed in the Oxygen Administration course include:
The components that make up a supplemental oxygen system.
The various types of supplemental oxygen devices.
Important safety, storage, service, and maintenance steps regarding the use of supplemental oxygen systems.
The importance of supplemental oxygen in the care of victims of sudden illness or injury.
Using supplemental oxygen equipment when providing care for a breathing or nonbreathing victim.

Scuba Refresher
For those that are certified but have not been diving lately. You will receive a review of safe diving practices and the basic diving skills during two instructor lead dives, confined and open water.

Scuba Diver / Open Water Course
Like to learn scuba diving? This course is designed to allow you to explore the aquatic world safely while understanding just what SCUBA diving is all about. Begin your adventure here!

Advanced Scuba Diver Course
Would you like to build your confidence level and increase your skills while enjoying new diving experiences? This course is an enjoyable program of supervised experience introducing you to a variety of diving activities such as deep sport diving, night diving, and advanced navigation skills. With the additional skills in dive planning, you will become much more confident, and enjoy diving even more! The class is taught entirely in an open water setting at Lake Rawlings and possibly other areas depending on the individuals in the class. Graduates are competent, capable, and safe divers ready to engage in open water diving activities for which you have been trained without supervision.
Five dives required over a minimum of two days.

Rescue Diver Class
Prerequisite Note: First Aid and Adult CPR training (approximately four hours) meets the requirement for Scuba Rescue Diver certification. However, additional CPR training that includes two person CPR and the use of rescue breathing barrier devices, e.g. pocket mask®, face shield, is required to meet the requirements for diving leadership certification.

Dry Suit Diver Class
Are you interested in safely extending the diving season or would you like warmer dives all year round ? Dry suit diving is the perfect answer. Diving in a drysuit presents some specific challenges, however it is an option open to all certified divers who seek quality training and wish to stay warmer and more comfortable while in cooler waters. To answer the need for this training, we offer the Drysuit Course, taught by our qualified staff. Our course course will give you a basic knowledge and skills needed to minimize risks and gain experience in dry suit diving, as well as train you to properly use and maintain your dry suit with emphasising on safety and emergency procedures, helping to ensure you enjoy your cold water diving.
Certification is completed by completing one classroom session and an orientation session and two open water
training dives. Course consists of basic thermal considerations and how you get cold underwater cold water
physiology, comparison of dry suit options, advantages and disadvantages of each type, drysuit construction,
material, zippers, valves, seals. Insulation and undergarments, hoods, collars, dry gloves. After the dive the
care, maintenance, storage, packing and repair of your drysuit. Confined water includes method of donning a
dry suit, preparing to dive, equipment evaluation and buoyancy check. Emergency procedures that include
procedures to prevent runaway feet first ascents.
During the open water session, we practice safe descents and ascents, equipment familiarisation, emergency
procedures for drysuit diving, and assisting your dive partner.

Peak Performance Buoyancy
A Peak Performance Buoyancy specialty course will separate you from being a dive paddlers to a dive pro with the control you need for other activities such as underwater photography. You will find you use less air and have more fun during your dives with this control. During this course you'll use basic weighting guidelines to determine the correct amount of weight. You will practice the fundamentals of peak performance buoyancy during two open water dives, including the buoyancy check, fine-tuning buoyancy underwater, weight positioning for trim, streamlining and visualization.

Night Diving
Night Diving specialty course allows you to see a whole new underwater world. Even your local
dive site takes on a new personality at night, as many underwater creatures and plant life
(different from those you see during the day) are active at night.
During this course you will learn night dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and
potential problems. You will also learn how to control your buoyancy, navigate and communicate
at night and become acquainted to the local nocturnal aquatic life.
